How is it that studies show an increased rate of things like depression after chronic marijuana use, yet at the same time marijuana is used as medication for it? i don't really understand..

The key word is "chronic". It's not regular use, it's not responsible use. If you abuse anything, it fucks you up. I'll just bet that if you took too many of any OTC pill, used it in a chronic manner, you'll get undesirable results.

i might feel depressed if i ran out of pot and couldn't get anymore...it's never happened so i don't know

sometimes people self-medicate to alleviate symptoms they don't even know they have...cannabis is good medicine but it isn't a cure for anything (except maybe cancer)...perhaps depressed potheads are endlessly treating symptoms that won't go away

i read that in small amounts thc raises serotonin levels (like an antidepressant) but there's a point of diminishing return; smoke too much and they go down.

but i guess if you like getting high you should be happy as long as you can smoke

I dont know, but as for me, it kills depression COLD, no matter how much i smoke, i feel all good. same for nausea, it kills that cold too

yeah im more depressed when im not high but when im high it makes my head ha but i love it
