"no change" wow...Ill tell you, I dont like most of what President Obama aka Superstar does....

and this is not much

but if you idiots dont turn on a marijuana doc, and see aaron from MPP getting ignored by senators claiming there is no such thing as medical marijuana...to go from that at the beginning of 09, to already having the president acknowledge it...thats huge...

they will now actually consider taxing it down the line...Obama proves he gets what he wants no matter what...if he keeps losing poll support, the man will back us just as he did the gay community recently...was it much? no, but hes trying to save face with the promises he initially made.

I wont vote for him next election, but....to say this is nothing, is flat out ignorant. Tell those in san diego getting mauled by Bonnie Dumanis that this is "nothing"...

sure, its NOT legalization, or decrim....but...its a first step in a positive direction, without fed support we have 44 percent support in the USA...factor in a president who gets support for whatever he does, and that percentage goes up up up.....

this is a long, slow process...but for those of us who ACTUALLY need it, not to get BAKED with our buddies, but to stop our pain...its worth the wait...and when they actually do regulate it better....there wont be as many people with cards, since 80 percent shouldnt have one...Period...now...that is just till they figure out pot presents no danger. when they figure that out, then the rest of the pot users that arent legitimate medical users, can use it.

This was more or less the gist of original post. No way are any of us out of the clear, but it is great to finally see an administration not scared to say something... ANYTHING... good about the use of marijuana... Yes.. every little step counts for something! Thanks for all the cool replies!

I hope he does it by the end of his presidency. I can sympathize with him in the sense that going at legalization hard and fast will cause a major uproar but c'mon Obama, lets go!
