just got an aero garden going to grow herbs that came with it. anyone grow with the aero garden befour??? what advise do you have?

I got one sitting next to me right now. I did a little test rooting clones with it and shut it down today because it is slower that traditional rooting methods. It actually is what got me started growing. I took 2 bag seeds and stuck them in while growing herbs and the new herb ended up taking over the entire system. I ended up pulling them out of the machine with about 18" of root mass and planted them in soil. The rest is history. I ended up with a male which I D/X'd and a female that I cloned until I got some "real" seeds.

I use an Aerogarden Pro 100. I've had some success growing AK47 feminized and an assortment of free feminized G13 seeds I got from Attitude. I've also had some failures because of overfeeding and germination problems.

I'm getting ready to grow one AK48 feminized and one or two White Widow feminized. I DO NOT recommend growing more than 2 or 3 because the roots will consume the entire reservoir.

I recommend the following:

1. Additional CFL lights are a must! I use 1 200 watt 6500k and 1 85 watt 6500k for vegging and switch them out two 1 125 watt 2700k and 2 42 watt 2700k for flowering.
2. Air stone with external air pump. A 6" works well along with an additional 2 2" air stones.
   
3. Good nutrients instead of the ones that come with the Aerogarden. I use Foxfarms Grow Big and Tiger Bloom but there are many good ones out there.
   
4. I use the paper towel method for germination and after transfering them to the AG, I don't add ANY nutrients for the first two weeks. After that, I start them out with a 25% solution of Grow Big and gradually increase that. Fox Farms has a hydroponic feeding schedule available online as do many others.
5. I use Hygrozyme for good root health. I swear by it. There are other products similar to Hygrozyme out there, but once I used it I thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

yeah my buddy has one that he has been using and re using, he seems to like it, he just likes that he can keep it on his desk and not have to have an insane setup

When your plants get too big you can take the Light off and put it under another light....they work great but over-growth is an issue.

I been trying the AG i had problem in germination but i think seeds were bad so i toke fresh ones from this years harvest. stressed out females that had seeds. they work beutiful Purp Kush is on its way

Its great just don’t use those nutrient “tablets”!!
