Stoner Buck$$: 216.61 My Mood : | I need help Ok so, I'm a first time grower and I'm having a MASSIVE wilting issue plus some yellowing in the top leaves and new growth with my two bigger clone plants, it started when I added an outdoor only rose food called: Bayer Advanced, All-in-One Rose and Flower Care.
From what I know my set up is enough as far as light goes, I have two four foot two bulb florescent lights and a single 29 gallon aquarium light from my original set up (It was tiny so I decided to upgrade significantly), not sure on the actual light output though. I also have three sheets of mylar to maximize my reflectivity.
For heat I'm using a small heat pad and that seems to work really well at keeping my grow area at an even 70 degrees.
I'm using a premium Transplant mix fro my soil since I started out with clones and I'm using the same with the baby's I grew myself from seeds. As for PH, I have no money to get anything to test that so I have no idea and I'm not sure what info you need on nutrients.

Well for one that bayer you used isnt good for anything in veg. That plant has wilted a lot and may not be saved. I'm thinking ph issue myself. I'm not quite sure though as i've never seen a plant wilt that badly. How big is the pot it's in? Might be root bound as well. I'm sure someone else will chime in, and in the meantime you can take a look in the grow section under FAQ. many great pieces of information . Oh yeah could also be heat issues. Try moving that light up a little

I actually just replanted the bigger plant you see there this morning, I'm hoping that new soil and a bigger area will help dilute the Bayer stuff and allow the plant to bounce back, though i'm not sure on the volume size of the container since it wasn't labeled.
Edit: I also forgot to add that I recently had a Mite problem, I seem to have gotten that under control but I think might have left my plants in a weakened state....

Depends on the amount of damage that was done. To me it looks like a ph issue possibly caused by the bayer. What type of soil are you using? I have seen plants wilt due to heat also, try moving the light up a couple of inches as well

I'm using a mix of Whitney Farms Premium Potting Soil All purpose transplant mix and Schultz Professional Potting Soil Plus standard formula. I was originally only using the transplant mix but I kinda ran out... I'll try moving the light up some.

you said this was a clone right? how long have you had it? try spraying the leaves a couple times a day with straight water and yeah, raise the light alittle.

Let's see, I've had it for like...... two weeks, maybe a bit more, it's a little over a month old in total. Alright, I'll see if I can find a spray bottle and raise the light

Yeah man i'll be honest with you i don't know much about clones, but I have heard many people on here and other places say the leaves have to be sprayed with water to keep them hydrated. Like I said there should be another grower replying soon. Good luck man I hope I was of some help.

anything helps man, I have a bunch of homies who're growers and they're all stumped as to why my plants are doing this, besides the Bayer food I used, even the guy I got the clones from doesn't understand....

ok couple things
most everyone that replyed has a valid points
1)clone
2)hydrate
3)heating pad/light location
#1 clones come from a very controlled inviroment (lots of moisture after cutting) which covers point #2
point # 3 GET RID of the heating pad (the lights will provide more than enough heat) just make sure they are not too close to the tops.
At the point you are at now with her it will be quite the challange to bring her back, but from your pics it looks to me to much heat, not enough moisture(not soil moisture), not to mention ph or other factors.
Keep the heat down and the top hydrated and good luck

Are you sure I should get rid of the heating pad? Where I am it's getting pretty cold and my set up is right next to an outer wall (Luckily there's stuff on the otherside of it to keep it slightly insulated)

I didnt see anything to indicate temp/humid,if you dont have something you should pick up a temp/humidity gauge at like Wal-Mart or something for about 5$ and keep it in w/your plants,.it might be 70 deg in the room but 80 under the light.
also, watch out for that Schultz soil, its kinda like miracle-gro in that it has time release ferts in it, its easy to over feed your plants.I'd try to find a diff. one.
ph is very important, you said you dont know anything about that, but you need to learn about it if you want to be successful.
i've said it over and over, but 20 bucks on a grow book or a good amount of time at the library learning basic grow info is time/money well spent.youll be surprised at all the little things you never thought of.
good luck
