I just started growing and i really have no idea what im doing.
I got a couple seeds from a old ounce i got the bud wasnt good but i also got it for dirt cheap, so im guessing the seeds arnt going to be all that great. But i filled a pot with soil and put a couple seeds in and watered it.
I also got a blue light directly above it.
I really dont know what to do next
How often should i have the light on and how often should i water it
Please coment back |

HA! Nice. By blue light, do you mean standard light bulb? Just with a blue color?

You'll want to get rid of that and get a compact fluorescent in there. That will make a difference for you. The lamp you have in there might keep the plant alive, it won't do much else for it though.

One of the screw in compact fluorescent will work. Get a "cool white" for now. Also I believe the 100 watt equivalent would do nicely for ya. Water it when the top inch or so of soil is dry. Don't get too gung ho.

If you didn't germ the seed, I don't know. Probably 5-7 days. I germinate all my seed out of the soil. So it's easier to tell when they will pop up.

Oh, germ = germination. Most growers will germinate the seed prior to planting. germinating the seed is soaking it in water or between some wet paper towels in a ziplock. Once the root has popped out of the shell, the seed has germinated (used up it's built in resources) and is looking for soil and nutrients.

When you're germinating you don't want/need any light on them. Once they've popped open you can put them in a shallow depression in the soil and put a bit on top, keep that moist when they're seedlings. Once they do pop, the lighting can be 24/0 if you like or 18/6, it's personal preference. If you look in the gardening seciton, the FAQ there will cover the majority of what you need to do and look for.
