It all goes back to the wind and drag coefficient theory.... The pressure of a "gas" release if something as small as a bird can reach upwards of 32psi according to Mythbusters... as most birds can reach speeds of 35-40 mph, The drag coefficient would not be dampened by the 32psi worth of thrust....
