I'm going through withrawal here!!! Yahoo has been down for at least 32 hours now, whether it be their groups, answers, mail etc. It's where I get my morning news, my e-mail, and I REALLY need to check my e-mail right now! Damn technology! Nobody told me I would get addicted to you! Nobody told me the detox would be this hard!


So who's it affecting, and where (roughly) are you from? I looked at some other site discussions, and half the people are saying "nope, it's fine", and the other half committing suicide over SYC (Sudden Yahoo Cessation).

I'm from Kelowna, B.C., Canada btw. (good powerful weed in these parts)

Have you considered using a different domain? .ca, .com, .co.uk, .aus etc?

If not, Google always has access to Yahoo. Use the Translator function of Google to spit the page out at you. It works kinda like a proxy.

Yep. I've tried yahoo.ca, mail.yahoo.com, yahoo groups, yahoo answers, the whole works. But trust me, it is down in a lot of parts, it's just that about 70% of people aren't having the issue.

EDIT: Nope, the domain is utterly dead to Google as well.

Go the whole hog with a proxy? It stands to reason that if myself (in teh mightah queen's Fingland) has access to it, running a UK proxy would let you access things...Maybe...

Oh wait, Yahoo is now working again. I'm pretty sure it was buggered for Canadian residents, at least in the west. That totals at least 34 hours it was out. Laaaame!!!

Yahoo sucks because they inundate you with useless bullshit on their homepage, and because their apps(mail, etc) generally suck(at least last time i bothered to use them). Go to yahoo.com and then to google.com. Google's page is much cleaner, like a search engine should be. If i want to go do a search, I shouldn't have to wait for all the bullshit yahoo fills the page with to load.

If you consider such bullshit to be a 'feature', google has a homepage option which allows you to customize your own page-o-crap to be inundated with, but doesn't shove it down your throat on their homepage.

So basically what I'm trying to say here is, STFU n00b!

ok if yahoo is up its up everywhere, ur problem is that ur internet's is not updating yahoos domain dns after yahoo's recent server upgrade. First open run and type ping yahoo.com -t and if it is shows a connection than its you computer, and if it dosnt its your internet provider.

If you use a proxy like [code]http://www.zopopo.com[/code] and get on yahoo it should work just fine. Untill you call ur provider and tell them your problem, if you have cable or dsl you could also restart your modem as sometimes a dns wont update unless your internet is restarted.
