over the past couple days, alot of the guys I first started smoking with have stated that they are done smoking weed forever. I find it hard to believe, but I'm also somewhat impressed that they have already managed to come to the conclusion that weed is "bad" for you. I'm kinda dissapointed in myself that I can't see that. I love pot, and I smoke about a joint a day on average. me and 4 of my room mates go through about half an O in a week. I'm kinda stoned right now, but I feel like I shouldn't be, I feel like if they can make the decision to stop smoking pot so should I. Have you guys ever been in this kinda situation, or have you ever thought about permanently stopping? Share with me your weed quitting or not quitting stories, curious as to what situations others have gone through, and how they handled it.

i mean...i don't know. you gotta think about what you want in your life. after all, you gotta please yourself instead of always pleasing others. when i about 14 i got a weed ticket once and the system put me in this program and they drug tested me a couple times. anyway i never stopped smoking (i know i was young and a dumb ass) so i kept failing the drug tests. so the court ordered me to go to counceling at a drug rehab center that would drug test me. i stopped smoking for a while...which only led me to get into other things...anyway i fucked up and tested positive for something else and so they put me in outpatient rehab. i went for about 4 months and stayed clean, but EVERYONE there pressured me not to smoke...my family pressured me not to smoke..everyone said that it was so bad and so unhealthy...but it was just what worked for me....it never messed up my life or anything. and i've been smoking ever since i got out. so...i don't know...i mean...if it makes you lazy and every time you smoke you just end up eating all the food in your house and not getting anything done, then yeah...maybe cutting back is a good idea...but if you got your shit together...i really don't see why not.

I have quit before for different reasons. My mom caught me when i was 13 so that scared me enough to quit for a while, then i had a girlfrined that made me quit, stuff like that. The only logical reason that i can think of for me to quit now would be to save money cuz im more or less broke but i figure, no weed=going to movies or buying video games and such to have fun and spending just as much, maybe more money.

I think it's important for you to understand why you make the choice to smoke. Not for you to understand why they don't. If you can say to yourself that you smoke because you enjoy it and you harm no one else doing it. . . Fuck 'em.

Personally, I never would never let someone else's opinion of me make me stop one of my favorite hobbies (smoking.) Imo, people should only quit if it holds them back from taking responsibility in things such as school grades and work. Someone who can handle their job in society and do it right deserves to chill and smoke a lil reefer at the end of a day of stress. I think if you can keep it under control, than go for it. Your buddies may be in a different boat than you though, so the choice is theirs.

I almost quit because some of my friends kept getting busted and I felt bad for them (also I was running out of people to smoke with lol!)

The decision is yours, but I can tell you that I will toke until I croak. If I lose a few years off of my life then so be it. It's worth it to me to enjoy life while I am living. Plus I know some old stoners that have been smoking for years and they seem to be just fine. Do you smoke cigarettes? If so quit those, that shit will kill you. The risk reward for tobacco is way off tilt. I decided to quit tobacco and smoke weed instead. Healthier, better effects, better taste and smell, but more expensive.

Here's my quitting story. I started smoking pot when I was fifteen. Next month I'll be sixty. I'm going to give smoking another twenty years then I'll think about quitting, but I doubt that I will.

Dude, you don't know how many of my buddies have told me this...they quit smoking...and now smoke again. Do what YOU feel is right man! I am with you on this, I am 100% sure there is nothing wrong with smoking some dank and settin' your mind right. Do yo thang!

I had a friend who quit smoking. Tried to get some pals to quit too. None of us talk to the guy anymore. Bottom line? If your friends don't wanna smoke that's all well and good, and they may not want to hang around with you anymore should you choose not to quit, but if they can't accept the choices you make then they're not worth your time. Remember, it's your choice, not theirs.

man im sort of in the same boat as you. although my situation is serious.. i got busted for dealin and will be on probation in a month so today was my last day of smoking or so i say(we'll see how that pans out ill keep in touch) but im looking for some coping skills to help me without smoking.

honestly im not trying to act like a big stoner but it has caused a problem in my live i would stay high all day because what else do you do when your in your room where your allowed to smoke cigs (which cover the scent) and have a shitload of weed in your dressor? i would stay high, as soon as i come down its time to spark another bowl id say i was smokin roughly an 8th a day. what do i do with this big void in my life now its going to be so different, ive been smokin 3 years straight mostly everyday.
