Kirsten Dunst is a fan of marijuana and believes the world would be a better place if "everyone smoked weed." The star admits to smoking marijuana and trying other drugs.

Dunst, 24, says, "I drink moderately, I've tried drugs. I do like weed. I have a different outlook on marijuana than America does. My best friend Sasha's dad was Carl Sagan, the astronomer. He was the biggest pot smoker in the world and he was a genius.

"I've never been a major smoker, but I think America's view on weed is ridiculous. I mean - are you kidding me? If everyone smoked weed, the world would be a better place. I'm not talking about being stoned all day, though. I think if it's not used properly, it can hamper your creativity and close you up inside."

I agree with ever word she says regarding this subject.

I was just reading up on Carl Sagan and came across this... How did we not hear about this years ago???

Under the pseudonym "Mr. X", he wrote an essay concerning cannabis smoking in the 1971 book Marihuana Reconsidered, whose editor was Sagan's close friend Lester Grinspoon.[19][20] In his essay, Sagan wrote how marijuana use had helped to inspire some of his works and enhance sensual and intellectual experiences. Alot of people knew he smoked pot. With reform going well, and plenty of "genius" or talented closet smokers talking about their experiences, more and more people are hearing the truth about marijuana.

Honestly, so far you're the only person I've heard of who has said people already knew about this, and I'm not saying you're wrong, but I think this shows that a lot mainstream people need to know.

You obviously got the information from a well known public source...

Not poking at yah, just saying exactly what you are. More and more people like yourself in the mainstream are finding out the goodness all about marijuana, because of reform, and popular people now being able to express their opinions of it.

Yeah, I know what you're saying; it's definitly a public source, but think about how few people are looking for bios on Carl Sagan..

I'm still surprised though that there hasn't been more press on this. It's not front page news, but one would expect to hear more about it.
