Hey all,
I usually don't post..I think I may have only once before..I'm more into just hanging out and reading I guess? Anyway, I had my wisdom teeth out on Monday...but I'm worried that if I smoke up I'll get dry socket...any experiences?
Also, my oral surgeon prescribed percocet for the pain...will I have any adverse effects if I smoke after taking my meds?
I apologize if these things have been asked 1,000x before. I probably should have looked around :/

I had a friend who had her wisdom teeth out last year a little less than a week before 4/20. Smoking increases the probability that you will get a dry socket(due to suction) so for the first several days at least it would be very foolish to do so(after that and until they give you the go ahead, its just sort of foolish, lol). The loophole she exploited was baked goods. She had pot brownies, pot milk, and pot pudding(made with the milk) for her recovery(and 4/20).
To the best of my knowledge you shouldn't get an adverse reaction with your meds, but I'm certainly not a doctor. I believe my friend was on Vicodin and she didn't complain of any problems.

Oh man, dry socket is the worst. My brother got it bad one time and nothing helped with the pain. Not even percs or vicodins.

I just had mouth surgery a couple of months ago, however it was a different procedure. I had a skin graph done and all of the sensitive spots were covered with bandages... therefore smoking didn't pose a problem. You might want to steer clear for a few days just because its hard to smoke and not inhale in an aggressive manner, which is what causes the dry sockets.
BUUUUUUT.... Weed will not affect your medication in a bad way. I have seen first hand somebody taking numerous perks for pain, and then smoke on top of that. The weed did more good.
Peace and I hope you heal fast.

Well, I gave in and had to smoke a blunt last night, so I guess I'll just cross my fingers and wait it out!

Good luck. As hunny pointed out, it doesn't happen to everyone, but as John said, it'll be bad if it does.
Fingers crossed!

Thank god i was born without wisdom teeth.. I thinks its because im some sort of extra evolved super being..
So i have no info on the dry sockets.. but you could always smoke a J through your nose lol.
And as for the Percs, they are opiate based so if anything the bud would settle that unset opiate side affect
