Does anyone else ever feel depressed quite alot durring the winter or is it just me? Think it might have someting to do with the horrible weather here in england tho. I was feeling a bit low the other day so i thought a nice walk and a spliff would cheer me up, went out, walked about half a mile up the road, just sparked up and it starts heavily raining. Pissed on my firework
I've definitely heard that people suffer from depression more in the wintertime... so maybe it's just that. I always get a little depressed around November-December too.
Lack of sunlight, cold, darkness, and if you're in Minnesota, snow and below zero temps (and you work outside during the coldest hours of the day) causes quite a bit of gloom. I hate being dry in the winter because I become quite the sourpuss.
Its the same thing as Seattle has a high suicide and depression rate because its always raining there.
Just smoke more my brother

Yeah, winter depression is very common. My Dad use to suffer from it terribly. Plus I think that Christmas is stressful for a lot of people, like parents and married couples. There is always money problems around this time of year, and always fights. Stress=the worst thing in the whole entire world. The combination of the snow and the stress just gets to be way to much for some people... which I can understand perfectly.
Peace. Smoke UP!
heck yes i freaking hate winter right now i feel like crap and i know its cause of winter its some bs. and living in iowa its really bad cause its cold as hell here. i agree with you peacefully stoned this is a very stressful time of year for many people with the holidays and all that stuff. plus the weather is always terrible all you want to do is curl up somewhere warm and hibernate all winter long like a big bear.
You can purchase lights that offer you the same kind of light the sun is. too bad people cant rent them.

The official name is Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) .. there is a lot of info about it on-line ... depression, fatigue and lack of motivation are common symptoms .
and yes, light therapy has shown to be helpful to lots of people ... Unfortunately, the lights are expensive and some are much better than others ...

yes, i feel the winter depression, just kicked in today, tired, lack of appetite, no interest, gloomy thoughts, plus all that cold and snow has just begun for us, your music is a good place to put all those feelings and thoughts tho, so, hang in there, its just seasonal, few months and you'll be out raising hell with the mates again...

I can vouch for that! When I was single winter rarely got me down, but now that I'm married with a kid the stress around this time of year is pretty overwhelming. Makes me just want to go find a cave and hibernate. But you've gotta just keep on keepin on.
I am thankful that I live in Southern California. The weather here is usually pretty nice. I can understand how you feel though. I have been to places for a few weeks at a time, where it either rained or snowed and the skies were dark and I was not feeling so upbeat.
But here, I love to get stoned, pump some iron in the warm sun, get stoned again, eat some delicious food, get stoned again, make passionate love to my wife and fall asleep. It keeps me happy I would surely miss the sun too..much love to you
i find that as i get older the seasonally affected disorder gets worse ...i nevre used to be depressed with winter ,,but the cold gets in ya bones ,
all i ever hear at this time of year is how much people hate christmas ...well its heriditary in my family ,not one of us enjoys the whole consumerism of the thing ,this year out tree will go up xmas eve and be down by boxing day ..but this year ive heard more than the usual ammount say how much they hate xmas ...good will to all men and all that shite ...ho ho ho santa kiss my shiny white ass and leave my lump of coal ...ill burn it later
oh i forgot one of the best things apart from using a lightbox for this disorder is the cure all substance ...vitamin b12 (marmite will do ) its known to relieve depression ...and new research suggests that it also `cures` alzhiemers disease when given in fairly large doses

I think the weather affects all of us at one stage or another. Over here (New Zealand) we are meant to be in summer mode now but for the past 9 days the weather has been nothing but shit, wet and windy shitty weather.
