In my short 23 years on earth, I've realized that there is one thing that almost always makes someone "cool" or "edgy" -- new slang words.

You know what I'm talking about... when your friends are using some new term, you pick up on it, then you start using it, and it becomes a fun word to use around new people.

I've found that the best slang words to use are ones from Britain... like calling someone a "tosser," or when you're drunk saying you're "rat-assed." It sounds strange, but ladies love edgy guys. And guys love edgy ladies.

So... being that this forum is rather worldly... we should be able to transplant slang from one area (midwest, here) to another and therefore help each other out.

It could end up wicked awesome for every one of us.

Oh, it's not about getting laid; I just figured nobody would read a thread called "slang words."

Maybe it's just me, but I enjoy picking up on other areas' dialects. When in New York this summer, it was like people were on a whole different version of english than me. *shrug* maybe I'm just a weirdo.

My friends and I have made up some pretty weird/random words to use in place of other words:

fucking = epping "That epping piece of crap stole my car!"

smoking pot = eating poptarts (code when there are parents or whoever around)

Shugamuvah = word we made up one night while drinking and playing Boggle. We still use it to this day.

Sounds pretty lame, but its fun. haha.

I think dialects are pretty interesting myself. When I lived in Denver (six years ago), everybody said "right on" all the time. There's really no cool Midwest slang though. Or at least I don't notice it.

Buttery- When something is pleasant. "That show was buttery"
Gooey- Same thing as buttery, more in the context of herb than anything else. "That herb is goooeeeyyy"
Hella- As in, "That herb is hella gooey."
