Why do you get high?

During a little smoke session today, me and some buddies got wondering, why do we smoke like we do. Ive been smoking since the 8th grade, and it has made a major impact on my life. All for the good of course, minus the thousands of dollars its made me spend. Its made me more social, more intellectual, more fun, I just feel like a better person. If I dont have some of my daily medicine, i just dont feel I run as smooth through out the day. Its the oil for my creaky gears.

So I guess the reason I get high, is it just makes the day so much better. So much easier to relax, and expand the mind.

well usually it is to unwind from a long day (and its usually not a long day of smoking, i rarely smoke all day). smoking gets everyone on the same page, however stoned that page may be, and can create some great conversation topics.

that and the general atmosphere it creates, for me at least, is fantastic. relaxed, thoughtfull, buzzed up. taste, smell, feel, i enjoy it all when i get done rolling a nice jay.

I used to do it primarily socially, I had my stoner friends and we would get together, light up, and chill out. I had one in particular I did it with a lot and we would go into the middle of the woods and find amazing places, getting stoned just gave us the motivation to look for them.

Now since I moved and dont have any stoner friends in the area, I mostly just do it at nights to unwind and increase my appreciation of whatever movies or music or whatever I'm up too(I rarely go to sleep before 3 in the morning, for no particular reason).

I do it b/c it helps me feel better whenever i have an sickness or muscle tension. I also like how it makes everything funny but interesting. It makes me feel refreshed. It helps calm my mind when i am trying to sleep. It brings out my love. It brings out other peoples love. It tastes good. It smells good. Its the most usefull plant knowen to man.

Really i cant find much reason not to smoke. if i had a vaporizer then there would be no reason at all not to.

Mainly because weed provides an emotional balance for me... directly reduces stress and anxiety ... which allows me to see the world more clearly. A secondary benefit is that it enhances the senses ...

Mainly out of boredom. I was a pothead thru most of the 70s then got married and had kids. Raised the kids now they're out of the house life gets boring so I went back to my old pothead ways. Boredom's not bad when you're stoned. I'm a real nowhere man living a double life.

I took a look at marihemp and someone posted about her double life, and I could relate. When I was young I didn't care who knew about my illegal activities, but these days with all the piss tests and the "war against drugs" and all you gotta stay underground. Most people would think I'm a fine upstanding young man but in reality I'm just a loser (underachiever and proud of it!). These forums are an excellent place to let it out and just "go nuts!"

I get high: Because I feel better when high (anxious life is no fun)

I get high: Because the world is a little easier to tolerate when I'm floating.

I get high: Because the buzz in my head feels funky.

I get high: Because I've got nothing else really to do in this town.

I get high: Because I bond with my girlfriend when we toke, usually our toke sessions end up becoming 2 hour chats about ourselves and we learn more about each other every day.

I get high: Because I'm a recovering alcoholic, now I get the buzz without the booze.

I get high: To settle my constantly upset stomach. Irritatable bowel syndrome is not fun.

I get high: Because I actually understand certain jokes better, physical comedy is a lot funnier (Jackass is way funny when stoned, slightly funny when sober) I also immerse myself in learning things when I'm high and I actually remember those things better. (that explains the jump from a B student to an A student after I started toking)

I get high: Because I can, because its there, because its something to do.

I get high: So I can write these idiotic lists of reasons why I get high.

I get high: Because its a lifestyle only stonerz understand.
