In the winter of 78-79 I spent a few months traveling around South America. When I came back to the U.S. I went through customs in Las Angeles. I was the last person to get luggage from the carousel and when I got to the customs check there was nobody but me and the inspectors. The customs man looked at my passport and said "You've been to all the hot spots", I replied that no it was the rainy season and it was cold and raining. He didn't like that response and the next thing I know it was into a separate room and the customs man was putting on rubber gloves. I won't go into details, so I'll just say it wasn't one of the funnest times I ever had.
