Bill is new to growing. So, he would like to know how thing would work out if he just trimmed the buds off the plant as they matured and just let the plant grow. would the plant keep producing viable buds or what? I'm a little confused.

This is why people should search the boards and read before posting, someone else asked this recently.
NO just grow it and harvest it, once fully matured the buds should be harvested, if left any longer they will lose potency.
