Which would you choose for about the same money a 250w with convertable digital ballist for HPS and MH or a 400w HPS only light?

It will go in a closet the is 6'x3'x8' (l x w x h). The garden is for personal use only and the gardener would prefer not to cut holes in the ceiling and walls to vent.

The walls will be covered in mylar and there are 3 x 26w clf's and one 65w clf work light in there right now providing light for seedlings. The 65w work light is really cool and is hanging presently, but it will be placed standing up later to penetrate the underside of the plants when they are taller and a second one will likely be purchased to perform the same function.

This is a little project I just completed. I like getting stoned, but electronics is my other hobby. I rigged a relay up to an old mechanical thermostat so that it would switch 120VAC to turn a green heat lamp on and off. It doesn't get too cold around here, but my small enclosure gets down to the low 60s (Fahrenheit) during the night when the lights are off. I wanted a solution that would turn a 100 watt green reflector on, but only as needed. I'm still bench testing it now to make sure everything is kosher, but so far, everything seems okay. 120vac is nothing to play around with, so don't try this unless you know what you're doing. Hope this will inspire others not to throw useful things away. That thermostat is a cheap used one and the relay came out of an old broken tv. I love it when I plan comes together. :) If you want more specifics, feel free to ask. It's not a complex circuit, and any cheap mechanical thermostat should work.

I got the idea to recycle an old ovular satellite dish. It's one of the mini-types (about 2ftx3ft). I used spray adhesive and lined it with tin foil (i know that's not optimal). Then wired up 10 26watt cfl's under it all radiating out from the center. It seems to work reasonably well. Basically what I want to know is if this should work to produce a decent, albeit modest crop. It's a mix of 2600k and 5000k bulbs and produces a total of 17,500 lumens @ 260 watts. Not planning on going ape with the number of plants. Keeping a total of 6 in 1 liter pots with a soilless mix. Have one fan blowing over them as well. Also...I have a five gallon fermenter in the closet with them constantly producing CO2. Swap it out each week and distill the contents. One intoxicant helping to produce another. :) Any Ideas?

Alright so I did some CREATIVE thinking last night. and a sketch is coming along of my growbox. I will soon post it. I do however have a few questions.. There is a crack on the bottom end of where two corners meet in my closet. I think i am going to chip away a litttle basebord, and HOPEFULLY exhaust my hot air from my growbox there. This way, it's in the walls and will diffuse quick. I also have another idea, of having some plexi glass, across the cabinet, and keep the lights above the plexiglass trapping the heat there. This will help keep temps regulated and what not.

Now the hole where i would exhaust is slightly small, I plan on opening it up a little, but not much since i live in an apt. I would like some ideas of exhausting hot air out of my growbox. I would prefer not to use duct due to its size, but im slightly newb and I would like some help. I also plan on cutting to circular holes with computer fans mounter there for fresh air. I also plan on having a oscilating fan in the growcab. Is all this adding up? am I on the right track?
