I recently went to one of the local clinics in Denver to get registered for MMJ. There was a fairly major discount for the 'Dr. Visit' if I signed up their partner dispensary as my primary caregiver.

After completing the 'Exam' and getting my paperwork, I then of course, walked next door to their dispensary.

I was completely disappointed in the service of this place. It was filled with kids stoned off their ass who didn't know a damn thing about any of the product they were selling. Since I signed them as my primary caregiver, I do get a 'discount' at this dispensary, but I would prefer to shop somewhere the staff is a little more knowledgeable of the product, and can get through a sentence without stuttering the word 'dude' 5 times.

What I need to know is this. Since I got a discount on my 'Dr. Visit' by signing them up as my caregiver, is there any binding contract that says I have to keep them at my caregiver? Can I find a dispensary that offers better service and re-assign that one as my primary caregiver?

Please don't respond with comments such as, 'Grow your own' or explain to me why the dispensaries need patients to sign them up. I understand all this, I just need to know if I am bound by anything to not change my primary caregiver, and what I need to do to change it.

no you are not locked in. You can go visit new more exciting dispensaries, and go to another doctor when you reup

If I am not mistaken, many dispensaries will assume temporary care-giver status over you while you are in their place of business. I don't know if that makes sense, but that is what I saw while watching a potumentary (pot-documentary) on Current TV.

you are very able to change your caregiver, just be sure to let them(your currently listed caregiver) know of the change.

also be aware that with your recommendation/card, you can go to almost any dispensary in the state. very few will require you to have them listed as the primary caregiver on your state card.

Dispensary's can sell to people who aren't listed as they primary care giver? What about in lieu of that recent court case that said dispensaries have to do more than just sell marijuana? Can dispensaries make someone their care giver and have that person grow and provide their ganja?
