fear and loathing in las vegas: i never read it but i've seen the movie, and i hear that the book is GREAT too. its about 2 guys (true story) that go to las vegas and trip on everything, do coke, and basically go insane.

banana republicans: a good book, but a pretty liberal bias. i dont believe EVERYTHING it said, but most of it is true and gives you a good view into the GOP. try to keep a balanced perspective though

brave new world: aldous huxley, incredible...try it out

electric koolaid acid tests: ken kesey's masterpiece. true story about the merry pranksters adventures tripping around the country.

doors of perception: i wanna read it but it isnt in my library :-(. i hear its incredible though

DaVinci Code: apparently its extremely innaccurate, but a hell of a story either way. you dont want to put it down.

animal farm: george orwell

most books are great if you go into them with an open mind

Yah i read Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas last month and its awesome. I reccomend watching the movie and then reading the book i ended up liking the book better but the movie gives you a good picture to have in your head while your reading it. The movie needs to be watched stoned though, like really stoned cause its trippy as fuck.

I read that before. Read it after I read Blade Runner though.

The Gods of Eden by William Bramely :
Fantastic book about how aliens own the human race and how they indirectly control almost all warfare because they are actually what we worship as "god"...sounds pretty wacky but its actually a fantastic book, i've read A LOT of books in my time and reccomend this book over any others...really interesting/mind boggeling/hard to put down. It's nonfiction btw too

The Once and Future King: T.H White:
CLASSIC, best book out there that's about king Arthur/Lancelot/knights of the round table and all them foolios... White is a great writer, very witty and imaginative, he includes a lot of his own beliefs about god and the universe, really long but it doesn't get boring, there aren't really any dry spots. It's 1000 pages of pure entertainment!

Flowers for Algernon by some guy who's name i forget
About this mentally retarded guy who becomes the first person to ever recieve intelligence enhancing medical treatment, written in journal format, this book is impossible to put down...so.. so.. good...

Goblin Quest by Jim Hines:
K this would probably be considered more of a children's book, but its so funny and great to read whilst fried... A MUST READ FOR EVERY STONER

None of the books i mentioned contain and drug reference except for Gods of Eden which briefly explains the rituals of the hash-hish assassins who pwnd to no end...that is all...

Piers Anthony - Ox, Orn, and Omnivore and Macroscope are good books. I have some of his other books as well, but those first three are classics.

I don't read much. but what I have have been great. The Dark Towers by Stephen King and The Chronicles of the Necromancer by Gail Martin. Both great reads But not much drug reference but still I highly recommend.

The World According to Garp & A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. I first read them over 10 years ago and they are still favourites.

Newer choices would be: Ella Minnow Pea, Rococo, The Time Travellers Wife.

I am currently struggling through the Twilight series. A coworker lent me all 4 books and I figure I may as well read them. Way too much teenage female angst and sappy "romance" for my tastes but, meh.

Breaking Open The Head and The Electric Kool-Aid Test are what I was going to say as well!

You could also get the High Time's Pot Smoker's Hand Book, it's pretty cool. It's even got 420 things to do when your stoned.
