The Temple of the Golden Pavillion is my vote. Why, "In this book, we can see how a mind can be driven along to evil through obsession." Peaks my interest I guess you could say.

I am big fiction fantasy buff and Terry Brooks is one of my favorite authors. I would reccomend you read this too if your into this kinda stuff. I love to get stoned and let my imagination run wild.

Suicide- That's not a bad idea I also might use sparknotes to get an idea for the books.

DGC- I'll have to look into that book it sounds interesting and those Terry Brooks books also look pretty good considering I also enjoy fantasty/fictional stuff I'll have to check one out some day, thanks for the reccomendation.

lol thats a way to get a real good insight on the book.
depending on whether your reading them for buisness or pleasure you could just read sparks note whole sections on the books.

I'd suggest Jane Eyre. An excellent piece of gothic literature. It's about a girl who goes to a home to be a governess and just all of her experiences there. The creepy noises, falling in love with her boss, all kinds of stuff. She's lower class and almost seems determined to stay there, it has a lot of "class struggle" kind of stuff. It's just an older book. The Temple of the Golden Pavillion is good as well.

i read damien and steppenwolf by hesse.it's great ,don't know how the translation could keep up with...
Siddharta is about the life of buddha.yes the dude with the belly and the grin.lol
i would sum hesse up like this :loneliness,love,drinking,search for one's self,philosophical.
read steppenwolf first!
that band called themselves after the novel.
it's about a young dude who meets an old dude.and they learn from each other.it's from the perspective of the young dude(the narrator in first person).

sweet i chose to read Nausea but i haven't read it yet im reading it monday but i'm defenitely going to look into those books you suggesting the stepenwolf one sounds really interesting , thanks man
