Lately I've been reading the Left Behind series and the Zion Chronicles, both are Christian based and both have a lot of info about Creation, Zionism and the times of Christ and the future of the world.
I've only got thru 6 of the Left Behind series due to the fact I cant seem to find any of the rest of the books around town (yah yah internet, books.com blah blah I'm not an online shopper type)
Zion Chronicles basically tells the story of how Israel became a nation and it really gives you an insight into how cruel the world treated the Jews. Bodie Theone is a great authoress, for a female she writes some pretty cool war scenes.
Then theres always the Nicholas Sparks books....The Notebook and The Guardian and Message in a Bottle were all very good reads.

If your into wizards and magic and stuff like that (lord of the rings, eragon type stuff) I highly highly recomend The Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind . By far one of the best authors I've ever read.. I can't put the books down.. There's like 11 in the series and I'm on the second to last book..
Also Dan Browns less know books Deception Point and Digital Fortress also Angels and Deamons the book before The Divince Code. |

Howard and later L.Sprauge de Camp, Lin Carter and some others...you'll see they are nothing like the comic book or movie portrayals. I'd spark up a fatty, lie in my hammock and get lost for hours reading about the adventures.
For pure nonsense that will make you scratch your head read the newspaper
