So I got high the other day and went to wal-mart...

I am "the pothead MacGuyver" in the words of dave chappel.

When I see something bongworthy I must make it...

I used to have a hookah I made out of a pikachu shaped jug (the pipes came out of his ears and you smoked pot out of pikachu's head)

Oh and my creations are VERY nerdy, if you hadn't guessed...

Well... I saw soomething so full of epic geeky win that I was sure it would become legend...

GENTLEMEN... BEHOLD!!!
(watch the whole thing to see a detailed explaination on how I made it and how much each part cost, it starts after i get done beiing stupid on camera)

Now I know it is nothing compared to a real bong.

But nothing is better than a masterpiece you made with your own damn hands and works like a charm for under 5 dollars that is also just freaking awesome for $5.

Judge this solely on the fact that I made it for under $5 with fairly common tools and almost no effort.

I am not saying it compares to real glass pipes/waterpipes... but isn't she a beauty for what little effort/money i put in?

you can just take the metal screen out of the sink where the water comes out man, also some of them are all metal so you can just take the whole assambly offf and use it to smoke thru

yeah but you need those and this was $1 for a stainless steel mesh screen that works really well

You only need to replace em every few months and one $1 tea strainer has enough mesh for like 10 screens if you cut it right

well i didnt mean you use it from your house lol but yeah 1 dollar tea screen great idea

Nice work, you're a funny motherfucker too. Just for reference the plumbing fitting is called a reducing bushing and you can also probably find a brass threaded nipple or a brass threaded vacuum nipple to thread into the bushing and use as a stem. They come in different lengths and brass is easy to cut if you need to.

Yeah I could get a different stem but the marker tube fits SOOO tight that it is perfect for it...

and i was able to snip off the end so theres about 1/4th and inch from the bottom of the bowl (water bowl not the stem's bowl) so I got the maximum water without overfilling it or having the stem sit at an awkward angle.

Anywhoose - I have a tip for you with your "lid/cap" -

Sparingly - and I DO mean SPARINGLY take a paper towel and dip it in a bit of olive oil (vegetable oil gets gross after time) and ever so lightly apply it to the part of the cap that "sticks" - not the whole darned thing tho - you don't want olive oil all over your mouth now do you?

You just need the lightest coat - and it won't affect "sealability" unless of course you drown the danged thing. The Olive oil won't go rancid and it's such a small amount - there shouldn't be any come off in your mouthpiece. If it does - there's too much applied to the cap. You do remember I said SPARINGLY......danged potheads - I like that word I guess. Ok - no more
