New Tongue Piercing...okay to toke?

alright so it is thursday and i got my tongue pierced last friday. obviously i have been smoking numerous times every day since then (just rinsing with non-alcohol mouthwash after which makes my tongue white because i have to use it so much). i have been reading that you shouldn't smoke weed because it may get infected, and cottonmouth will slow the healing process...but um....yeah...i'm a stoner. as far as i can see my tongue piercing is actually really clean, not swollen at all, no bleeding, no white puss coming out (ive heard that happens). the only thing is that the top ball has made a huge dent all around it and it falls in there and sits there flat with my tongue. it's really loose and the bottom bar keeps hitting my bottom front teeth and at the end of the day they are soar as hell. i went to my piercer and he said its fine. but is this from smoking? someone said don't smoke because of the suction. but i havent been using a bong and i dont have to really suck that hard to get a good hit.

i was just wondering if this dent is from smoking weed and is it okay to smoke weed during the healing process?

sorry for being so long and confusing. i just really need to ask someone here because if ask this on another forum everyone will be like "ew weed...ew tongue piercing" and that obviously doesn't answer my question.

Smoke is one of the worst things for a mouth that is healing. With all the foreign substances sticking to the clots and what not.

But if you are keeping your mouth clean like you say then im sure it will be fine. When you have a tooth pulled, if you smoke you will generally get some sort of infection or dry socket. And smoking with a hole in the tongue i can see being just a little different and safer. The tongue is one of the fastest healers of anything in and on your body.

Kepp er clean and id say its gravy. And the indentation is probably normal seeing how there is a hole its trying to get through. It should heal fine. Keep moving it around in your mouth.

PS- Im sure you already know, but i dont get it...Prepared to spend an inumerable amount of money to fix what that little ball does to the rest of your mouth. Everyone i know with a tongue pircing has shattered one part or another of a tooth, or teeth. To each their own.

That Dent thing you're talking about will go away after a while, When I pierced mine, I toked the whole weekend after (I was celebrating my 24th b day) and never had any problems....all you gotta do is keep your mouth clean so mouthwash after toking is good, drink lots of water too (combats cottonmouth)

PS JDR.....I've been one of the lucky few people to never have destroyed any teeth from the piercing....so far...*knocks on wood* lol

okay...u say the dent will go away but how will it go away if my top ball sits in the dent all day and keeps pushing further down into the hole everytime i eat or talk? will it still heal?

teeth are important to some people. others not so much. lol.

it will heal up.....I forgot to mention...eat a lot of ice cream or suck on some ice to make the swelling go down...the dent is because your tongue is swelling and when the swelling goes down the dent will disappear and basically thats where the "hole" is.

okay it stopped swelling days ago. and now there is just some crater and the balls sits in there and its all loose. anyway when i put a picture up i will show u.

mouth wash is bad for tongue piercing it kills the good germs.

Mouth wash is only bad for the piercing if there's alcohol in it. Otherwise it should be fine. It's basically like anti-bacterial soap for your mouth. lol and everyone else is right, your tongue might not seem swollen but it still is, give it a week or so.

I'm not gonna say its good to toke with a new tongue piercing but I carried on toking when i got mine and had no problems. If you do then make sure you use mouthwash regularly
